Hi Lucie: My daughter is having trouble joining a class using the code from her teacher. I’ve signed her up as a student and used her code to join the class but no luck. I also have an account and am wondering if Showbie thinks I am the teacher. I also was given a parent code when I signed my daughter up, but it does not allow me to do anything except add her to my list. Please help.

      Hi Dana,

Thanks for contacting us! My name is Christy and I’ll try to help you out.

Can you please send an email to support@showbie.com and let me know what class code you were given, please? I will look into why it isn’t working for you.

As for your account, you definitely have a parent account so no worries there. With a parent account, you’ll be able to access your daughter’s portfolio (if she has started one) as well as her classes. In order to access those classes, the teacher(s) of the class need to enable parent access. So if you’re getting a message about Parent Access needing to be enabled when you tap on one of her classes, please contact her teachers to discuss enabling the feature.

Let me know via support@showbie.com if you have any other questions!

      All the best,
      Christy

How do my students complete and submit work via the web? I have no problem with those using iPads but my desktop students are finding it quite difficult.

    • Christianne Elefante

      Hi Patty,

We’re working on web annotation tools right now so that students can do some work in the Showbie web app. For now, they’ll have to download the files from the desktop and then use another program to complete their work.

We’ll be sure to let you know once web annotations are released!

Hey I’m a student and trying to sign up for my school and I can’t get a username that works it always says “your username must have alpha numeric keys/digits” and I’ve put in caps, alpha numericals , numbers but I can’t get a username that works plz get back to me ASAP 👍🏼😐

    • Christianne Elefante

      Hi Laurence,

      Thanks for the comment!

Try putting the numbers at the beginning of the username instead of at the end – that usually works for me. Otherwise, you’ll just have to keep trying different combinations until you find a username that hasn’t been taken yet. Also, usernames aren’t case-sensitive so changing the capitalization won’t actually affect it.

Please contact support@showbie.com if you have any other questions!
