Though Showbie originally released the digital portfolio feature as a Pro feature, feedback from teachers like K-4 art instructor Chelsea Lannon prompted us to make the digital portfolio feature available to all Showbie user types. In August we released the Showbie gradebook: a fast, flexible, and simple way to set, review, and export grades and final feedback on your students’ work. October saw the addition of digital student portfolios to Showbie, allowing you and your students to curate and review a collection of great work over time. Next up is Showbie for Parents, allowing you to keep parents informed of their students’ progress and accomplishments through Showbie.
The concept of going ‘paperless’ in schools is becoming increasingly popular — but does it really save money? Showbie has created a paperless savings calculator to help you figure out how going paperless in your school could save your budget.
Any educator in the UK knows how important evaluations from Ofsted are, and how serious it is to be put on special measures. Showbie recently talked to deputy head teacher Nic Ford about his experience being at a school put on special measures, and how a lot of hard work, 1:1 training and a little help from Showbie helped get them out of special measures in 1 year – nearly half the time it typically takes other schools in the same position.
